486 - Alphonse Coat
The striking 'Alphonse Coat' takes its inspiration from the beautiful flowing lines of the Art Nouveau period. It was designed specifically for the Lunaesque shoot 'Time of the Elves'. Images of the design in action can be seen here (please note, the coat featured in the shoot is in a slightly different fabric)
The coat is made from a woven, crushed panne velvet in a rich bronze colour. It fits neatly into the waist with a pleat at the back that falls into a dramatic drape. The front is slightly shorter and graduates round to the back drop. The sleeves stop below the elbow and are finished with a beautiful 'petal' shape cuff. The inside of the cuff is lined in a embroidered faux silk. The same stunning faux silk is used on the inside of the collar, which turns up to frame the face perfectly. The inside front facing of the coat is also in the same embroidered silk, this turns back as you walk to show off the exquisite attention to detail. The front fastens with small ornate metal buttons with an antique bronze finish.
Length of the coat at the back is approximately 54"/137cm
The front at the shortest point is approximately 41"/104cm
